Why Every Patient Starts With an Exam
Most patients arrive after something else failed: stretching, strengthening, physical therapy, medication, or time.
When pain keeps returning, the next question is not what treatment to try.
It is what is causing the problem.
So every new patient starts with a comprehensive exam. We look for the tissues involved, what is limiting movement or function, and whether it is something we treat.
Our Philosophy
The tools serve the diagnosis.
Focused shockwave, radial shockwave, EMTT, and manual adhesion release are tools. We use the one that fits the tissue. Sometimes that is none of them.

What We Look For in Chronic Musculoskeletal Pain
A major focus at Novo is muscle and fascia adhesion. This is dense, poorly organized connective tissue. It can restrict tissue movement, reduce range of motion, and change how muscles and joints handle load.
Adhesion can develop after injury, surgery, repetitive loading, or inactivity. It can also build gradually over time.
It is easy to miss when an exam looks only at where it hurts. We also look at the surrounding tissue and how you move.

Dr. Scott King founded Novo Soft Tissue. His work centers on diagnosing and treating persistent musculoskeletal problems.
He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. Before that, he studied Kinesiology at the University of Regina in Canada.
Dr. King is a Level 5 Integrative Diagnosis provider. He has additional training in rehabilitation, sports medicine, and soft-tissue diagnosis and treatment.
His main clinical focus is muscle and fascia adhesion, and the role restricted tissue can play in chronic pain, stiffness, lost motion, and declining physical capacity.
He uses the term musculoskeletal fibroaging for how these tissue changes may build up over years or decades. It is his own clinical framework, not an established medical diagnosis.
Not every loss of movement should be written off as "just getting older." Some limitations have identifiable mechanical and soft-tissue contributors. When those are treatable, improving them can help people keep doing what matters to them.

Built for People Who Want to Keep Moving
Most of our patients are active adults with pain, stiffness, or lost function that has not resolved with conventional care.
We want to understand why the problem persists, what can realistically change, and how much movement and capacity can come back.
That might mean golf, training, hiking, skiing, lifting, running, or everyday life without working around the same limitation.
For golfers, Dr. King is also a Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Certified Medical Level 2 Provider. The exam can connect physical limits and injuries to the demands of the golf swing.
Your First Visit
What to Expect
01 Exam First
Your first visit is for diagnosis. We review your history, relevant records or imaging, range of motion, strength, and tissue function to reach a working diagnosis.
No treatment is performed at the first visit.
02 Treatment Second
If it is something we treat, we choose from focused shockwave, radial shockwave, EMTT, and manual treatment. Each has different strengths. Not every patient needs every tool.
03 Reassess
Treatment should produce measurable change. We recheck range of motion, strength, function, and symptoms, then continue or change the plan.
