Dr. Scott King is a Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Certified Medical Level 2 Provider — a credential built specifically for medical professionals (MDs, chiropractors, physical therapists, athletic trainers), not golf coaches, to connect swing mechanics to the injury actually driving a golfer’s pain.
Medical Level 2 trains providers to use the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) to pinpoint the source of a golfer’s musculoskeletal dysfunction, distinguish whether the problem is a mobility restriction or a stability deficit, and map that back to the “Body-Swing Connection” — how a physical limitation shows up as a specific swing fault. It also covers rehabilitation progression through the SFMA 4X4 Matrix, and communication of findings between medical provider and golf coach. The curriculum specifically addresses golf-related injuries of the low back, hip, wrist and hand, elbow, knee, neck, and ribs.

A TPI-informed exam identifies whether a golfer’s pain traces back to a mobility restriction, a stability deficit, or tissue that’s actually been damaged by repetitive load — and that finding, not a generic protocol, determines whether manual adhesion release, focused or radial shockwave therapy (ESWT), or EMTT is the right tool, the same exam-first approach we use for every patient.
