Why does the first visit cost more than a follow-up?
Because the first visit is a comprehensive examination. Its purpose is to determine which structures appear to be involved, whether treatment at Novo is appropriate, and what treatment makes sense.
Is treatment included in the first visit?
No. The first visit is reserved for examination, diagnosis, and explanation of findings. Treatment starts at a follow-up visit.
How do I know which treatment I need?
You don't need to decide beforehand. The exam determines whether manual treatment, radial shockwave, focused shockwave, EMTT, another approach, or referral is appropriate.
How many visits will I need?
That depends on what the exam finds. We explain the expected course at your exam, before any treatment starts.
Do you accept insurance?
Novo is direct-pay and does not bill insurance directly. Documentation can be provided for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Coverage for shockwave therapy and EMTT varies by plan, so check with your insurer.
Can I use my HSA or FSA?
Yes. HSA and FSA cards are accepted for the exam and all treatments.
